tx edge
Broadcast-grade transport, protection and monitoring
Secure, resilient IP transport for the world's most demanding broadcasters, built and supported to Tier 1 standards.

tx edge is a software gateway that moves your most valuable live content anywhere, encrypted, resilient and monitored. It protects and monitors broadcast content between facilities, in and out of the cloud, and between other software transformation processes, so Tier 1 broadcasters can trust IP the same way they trusted satellite and SDI.
tx edge supports UDP, RTP, SRT, RIST, ZIXI (receiver 1.12), RTMP, VTTP and HLS inputs and UDP, RTP, SRT, ZIXI (feeder 1.14), RIST, HLS and VTTP outputs. tx edge supports 2022-7 input protection from RTP, SRT and ZIXI inputs, dual 2022-7 output creation with independent path delay and threshold based input failover to both active and passive sources. Each service passing through tx edge is subject to a full ETSI TR 101 290 analysis and has a thumbnail extracted. tx edge can be deployed on bare metal, virtualised or as containers. tx edge instances are monitored and controlled through by a tx core server.

Intuitive interface
tx edge is cross-platform and fast to deploy, on a server or in the cloud.
Control each tx edge device from the central tx core control interface, which offers a dynamic, authenticated web interface and a full API. Manage tx edge with a simple, user-centric interface designed for dynamic deployments, and manage tx edge deployments from a single place. tx edge gives you real-time information on every stream, including online state, IP errors, MPEG errors (ETR 290) and network loss.

Detailed Monitoring
Programmatically create new streams, and add and edit user accounts and streaming parameters. tx edge uses the latest BISS-2 secure encryption, backed by a flexible permissions engine to define what actions a user can perform. Optional integration with LDAP, SAML and Azure AD provides enterprise integration and two-factor authentication. Running on a lightweight, stable Linux platform, tx edge is supplied as software (VM, Docker, Linux install files), or as a pre-installed, performance-certified server. It can also run on Windows or Mac OS.
Input redundancy provides threshold-based failover across continuously monitored priority-weighted backup sources. Redundancy thresholds can be based on TS sync, bitrate, CC errors within a period, or unrecovered packets within a period.
tx edge captures packet statistics and can identify the top talkers in unsolicited incoming traffic. Combined with detailed monitoring, this makes tx edge a strong fault-finding and engineering tool, helping broadcasters and service providers deliver and receive content reliably over cheaper connectivity.

Functions
Take in UDP, RTP, SRT, ZIXI, RIST, RTMP, VTTP, HLS and 2022-7 and control the transport stream, with detailed statistics (missing, late, duplicate packets, bitrate and more) and built-in ETR 290 monitoring. Define priority levels per source stream, and failover types and triggers. tx edge maintains RTP integrity when using SRT, so 2022-7 seamless switching happens directly after, within tx edge or downstream on third-party broadcast equipment.
Its optimised implementation of SRT can deliver over 100Gbps of throughput per server, ideal for the broadcast market at scale.
tx edge is trusted by Tier 1 broadcasters and rights-holders delivering high-value content in an auditable, secure and reliable manner. tx edge reduces the cost of video transport, giving broadcasters the control and oversight they need.
